Jay and Ronda says hello to Anni from Seoul

While in Seoul Flix-editor Erik Larsen gave a demo of Flix for Jay and Ronda Hauben at a PC-cafe. Incidentally Citizen Reporter Anni Loenberg de Lichtenberg from Flix.dk was online and had a short conversation with Jay and Ronda via the Flix Messenger system.

Later the same evening Larsen recorded this brief video message showing Jay and Ronda saying hello to Anni back in Denmark.

It was online shortly afterwards - hopefully to Anni's viewing pleasure.

Four UN peacekeepers were killed while on duty at a UN observation post in the town of Khiam near the eastern end of the Lebanese border with Israel. A report by a BBC correspondent said that there were six hours of shelling in the area. A timeline obtained by CNN from the UN listed the first bomb as exploding 200 yards from the UN outpost at 1:20 pm. The UN observer contacted the designated contact with this information asking that the attacks stop.

New York events shine spotlight on U.S. invasion of Iraq

Two different cultural events in New York City provide important insights about the U.S. government and its planning for the invasion of Iraq. On Tuesday, June 6, the 92nd Street Y in New York City sponsored a conversation with journalist Helen Thomas titled "The Presidency and the Press." Thomas is known as the Grand Dame of the White House Press Corps.

At the Public Theater in the East Village, the play "Stuff Happens" is being performed as part of the Public Theater's 50th anniversary celebration. The play is a portrayal of the events leading up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Taken together these two events help to paint a portrait of the White House rarely available to the public.

Copenhagen, you've got it all...

"Why don't you shut up, prune"? Those were the words.

By Ulla Find

Now one can of course discuss the meaning of this statement. A prune is on one hand a delicious, sweet and tasteful delicacy. On the other a somewhat stale and wrinkled version of its original plum and may thus be considered to be older and not quite "up to date"?

The young man, who expresses the words, has just ripped my expensive 'bifocals' off my face with his loaded rucksack.

Fortunately I managed to catch the pair in the fall, so it was not without a certain feeling of relief I thus avoided untimely contact with my annoying insurance company.

The ultimate christmas gift in Denmark this year 2008...

By Henning Emil Lehrmann Christensen

My wish for Christmas - like a lot others in this evil pancake country is - a laptop.

I don't care very much on these several official advices about saving energy - it's a half lie- or a genuine one, cause partly you have to use a lot of energy and stuff to make those gadgets, partly the gas used to produce the monitors are highly poisonos, and a dangerous ozonelayer destroyer. - When it land in your home after a long journey from Asia - Sure, when its placed on your table, the amount of current used is less than your desktop consumed... but now you drive this to the recycling station - using your car! - and the recycling compagny drives to the stations with their lorry to collect the waste - put it into the shredder (with also consumes a bit of energy) : O saving Energy... LOL .... HA HA HA...

Epistolae: letters by medieval women
Content in English
claire writes

I started reading Epistolae this morning and found it very difficult to stop.

By Claire George

"Epistolae" is a Web site devoted to letters written in Latin by or to European women from the 4th to the 13th century. Each letter is presented with an English translation, its historical context, and biographical information about the woman.

The database includes letters to or from 75 women. I began with the correspondence between Clare of Assisi (1193/4-1253) and Agnes of Prague (1211-1282).
